e-mail:iliasaga@phys.uoa.gr
Research Interests: Ilias Agathangelidis is a postdoctoral researcher at the “Section of Environmental Physics and Meteorology” within the Physics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. During his doctoral studies, he focused on developing a physically-based urban heat exposure indicator, using remote sensing and GIS, emphasizing on intra-urban differences in overheating. Post-PhD, Ilias Agathangelidis has actively participated in various research projects aimed at assessing the impact of heat extremes in both urban and natural settings. Specifically, he has worked on (a) developing satellite-based indicators to monitor heatwaves in the Mediterranean, (b) evaluating urban overheating adaptation strategies using a multi-scale numerical modelling approach, and (c) investigating the impacts of excessive heat on human health.
