Research Interests: Dr. Lemonia Ragia has a diploma degree from the Department of Rural and Surveying Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her doctoral degree was at the Institute of Photogrammetry, University of Bonn, Germany. After completing her doctoral thesis she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Knowledge Discovery Team, Fraunhofer Institute for Autonomous Intelligent, Germany. She worked as a senior research scientist at the Computer Science Department of the Technical University of Aachen, Germany. She visited the database group at Microsoft Research, Seattle, USA. She was Maitre Assistant at the University of Geneva, Switzerland and she was a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada. She taught at Technical University of Crete, Greece and she is teaching now at the Hellenic Open University, Greece, surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems. She participated in several research projects and has written many publications in the scientific areas of photogrammetry, image processing, spatial analysis, augmented reality and geoinformatics. Her interests are mainly in the issues of climate change, coastal areas, and cultural heritage.
