Research Interests: She works on the improvement of our understanding on the mechanisms of atmospheric processes, such as the climatology and dynamics of the formation of Mediterranean synoptic systems, the identification of large-scale atmospheric patterns that affect the eastern Mediterranean climate, the internal variability of the climate system.
In addition, she has expertise in climate change impacts on ecosystems and several aspects of the human activities, risk assessments and adaptation strategies and in the implementation of advanced statistical methods towards exploring the spatiotemporal variations of climatic features in different spatial scales. Her work has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals and presented in numerous conferences, reaching a worldwide audience of experts. She has participated in more than 30 research projects funded from European and/or national resources.
